چکیده
This paper investigates the response of pile foundations to deep-excavations. An elastoplastic two-stage model is used study groups (with free- or rigidly capped-heads) and piled structures (grade beams bearing walls), considering piles embedded in either uniform layered ground. The validated using results analytical solutions, as well data from centrifuge tests real case histories. Then, a parametric excavation-induced displacements internal forces piles, deformations superstructure. Soil–pile transfer mechanisms pile–superstructure interactions are analysed for various ground conditions, with showing that settlements slopes between larger floating than end-bearing piles. Results show capped semi-flexible cause bending moments at foundation heads increase slope whereas risk tensile failure low. Also, indicate superstructure stiffness more relevant decrease deflection ratio when composed compared Finally, modelling stiff base hinged connections such may not be appropriate.

This report covers 33 papers submitted to the session Numerical Analysis of Tunnels and Deep Excavations. The majority of papers (26) addresses aspects related to tunnelling, both NATM and bored tunnels. As compared to previous conferences analysis of interaction between tunnel construction and surrounding structures such as buildings and pile foundations seems to have become more important. On...

15 صفحه اولModelling issues for numerical analysis of deep excavations
The influence of different modelling assumptions on the results of numerical analyses of a deep excavation problem is discussed. Based on a reference solution a comprehensive parametric study is performed, identifying modelling assumptions which may have a significant influence on the calculated displacement behaviour and the bending moments in the wall. The parameters investigated include wall...
متن کاملRaft and Pile Foundations under Cyclic Loading
The paper presents typical phenomena which can occur due to cyclic loading in granular soil. Numerical analysis with different material laws shows the challenges to simulate the ground behaviour realistically. Results of numerical analysis by means of the Finite-Element-Method are presented and the limitation of material laws discussed.
